Fall in Love with Front Porches

Your front porch is the first thing your guests and neighbors see, so it’s important to make sure it looks attractive and inviting. It is, after all, the first impression that sets the tone for the interior of your home!

Your front porch is the first thing your guests and neighbors see, so it’s important to make sure it looks attractive and inviting. It is, after all, the first impression that sets the tone for the interior of your home!

Welcome fall with open arms by outfitting your front porch or front door with the colors and textures of the season, from rustic burlap and plaid blankets to bright orange pumpkins and moody florals. These small, simple ideas will make you — and your guests — fall in love with your front porch this year.

Front Porch Decor Ideas for Fall:

  • Add a rustic ladder and place pumpkins or seasonal plants on it
  • Hang a wreath made with dried corn husks
  • Arrange pumpkins and gourds of varying colors and sizes on your steps or around the door
  • Incorporate mums or other seasonal flowers
  • Add hay bales to create layers
  • Lay plaid blankets on outdoor benches or chairs (if covered from the rain)
  • Incorporate burlap and other natural fibers
  • Create a personalized wood sign with fall phrases/words
  • Add lanterns or candles
  • Sprinkle dried leaves around your display
  • Paint pumpkins to match your home’s color scheme
  • Make a large letter sign (try your last name initial) out of pinecones
  • Display wheat strands or pampas grass in a large vase

Happy Fall!

I hope these fun and simple ideas make your front porch come to life this fall!
